Plot
After the death of his girlfriend at the hands of terrorists, Mitch Rapp is drawn into the world of counter terrorism, mentored my tough-as-nails former US Navy S.E.A.L. Stan Hurley.

What I Think
We begin at a very nice beach resort and drop into the lives of two young lovers swimming. They are having fun in the sun when the young man proposes to the young lady. The day becomes a celebration as he runs to the bar to grab some drinks to toast the occasion.

What happens next is the ultimate worst case scenario. A small group of terrorists open fire into the beach goers and kill a large amount of the guests. Our main character is shot in the leg as he searches for his fiancée. They lock eyes once they find each other from across the beach and at that moment she is shot in the chest.

He limps her way as the terrorists continue their shooting spree. One of the gunmen approaches the both of them and shoots her as the young man watches

From this point on Mitch Rapp starts down a path as a one man army to destroy those that destroyed his life.

This movie is adapted from a book series called "American Assassin" written by Vince Flynn which is a bit in line with spy adventures kind of like "The Bourne Identity".

As we follow Mitch into his journey we run into his new boss played by Michael Keaton who pushes him to his breaking point and beyond. Keaton does a fantastic job of being that Vet that is tougher than tough and not interested in your feelings. He is preparing you do kill or be killed so open your eyes.
Along the way we have missions come up involving bombings, murders, assassinations, double crosses, and of course extreme hand-to-hand combat that would rival most MMA matches.

If you are a fan of espionage, war, terrorist attacks, and revenge, take a seat and enjoy.

I give this movie ⭐⭐⭐¾ of 5 stars
