Where To Watch Your Next Movie
As is with everything. You have a choice. You can go to a regular movie theater where you get a seat with no leg room, no table service, and most importantly no alcohol. Then there is the movie theater that has all three.
Alamo Drafthouse
A Brief History
Alamo Drafthouse was founded in 1997 by Tim and Karrie League in Austin Texas. They were driven by a simple passion for watching movies and enjoying great food and cold beer.
What started as a small one screen operation turned into a multi-location business spanning across the United States. These theaters offer great mainstream and indie movie choices and tout great special events that differ from location to location.
The Rules
As with any movie theater, the Alamo Drafthouse has very strict rules. Below is the list:
1. No Talking or Texting during a movie.
This is just good manners. If you are caught during a movie talking or texting you will be asked to leave or be escorted out. Don't be that guy!
2. No one under 18 without a parent.
This does have an exception. If the minor (15 - 17) is a vetted Victory Vanguard member of the theater that understands the code of conduct, they may enter without a guardian.
3. No infants or small children
Again, there is a caveat to this rule. Alamo Drafthouse offers a "Alamo for All" movie day which is for families with young children and audiences with special needs. Take advantage of this when it is offered and take the kids to the movies.
The Name Says it All
When you name a place the Alamo Drafthouse then you would expect for there to be beer served. Well guess what, you would be correct and Alamo Drafthouse does serve some of the finest popular and craft beers around. Just visit the bar and try some tasty libations from around your location. If there is a microbrewery there is a high chance Alamo Drafthouse has it on tap. They also make custom cocktails that revolve around what is showing. Ask for a menu and be adventurous.
There aren't too many places you can get great movies and great food under one roof. Try some of the available cuisine from the comfort of your seat. Every theater boasts a personalized menu depending on the movies showing and the region of the theater. From burgers to chicken wings to custom cuisine. There is a meal for every palate.
