Plot
Two young British soldiers during the first World War are given an impossible mission: deliver a mission deep in enemy territory that will stop 1600 men, and one of the soldiers' brothers, from walking straight into a deadly trap.

What I Think
The date is 6 April 1917, we are deep into World War I. As the camera passes British Forces lining the trenches you can see the utter and absolute terror of trench warfare. The looks in the eyes of the soldiers is one of dispair, depression, and shock. The looks that show that they have asked themselves a million times if today would finally be the day that they die.
We follow our two soldiers through the crowd to a small bunker where their top brass give them a mission that will aid in the war and save more than 1600 men. The orders are to deliver a message to the front lines to stop an Army Division that is heading straight into an ambush. Only two will be sent to deliver the message, none more.

As they head out of their present position they enter the war above their heads, where countless others have crossed over the threshold and perished. They make their way through concertina wire, dead horses, and the decomposing bodies of their fellow soldiers killed in the fight. Together they reach the trenches of their enemy who have cleared out.
From this point on the tension and danger continue to rise for with every foot fall they are always one step closer to death. Will they make it to the front line or will they die trying to complete their mission?

The cinematography is fantastic, the visual effects are spot on, the score absolutely sets the tone during all of the high tension scenes, and every actor gave their best performances to honor those that fought during this war. I can honestly say that I have never left a movie filled with so much anxiety that I needing a drink after. The emotional rollercoaster that this movie delivers is unparalleled. This film deserves the Oscar hands down.

I gladly give this movie ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐of 5 stars!
