Movie Review: Escape Plan (2013)

Escape Plan … Short movie reviews for people with short attention spans.
Spoilers Possible!!!

Director: Mikael Håfström

Starring: Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Vincent D'Onofrio, Curtis Jackson

The Plot: When a structural-security authority finds himself set up and incarcerated in the world's most secret and secure prison, he has to use his skills to escape with help from the inside.

What I think: First off this movie stars two powerhouses that are synonymous with the action genre. Sly with Rocky, Rambo, Demolition Man, Judge Dredd and many more Iconic characters. Arnold with Predator, Commando, Terminator, and Total Recall. Right there you know this movie is going to get real.
Breslin, Stallone, is a man who escapes from prisons for a living, pointing out flaws in the systems of maximum security prisons. He takes a job to escape the mother of all unbreakable prisons and gets caught up in a double cross. There he gets acquainted with Rottmeyer, Arnold, who helps him in his plans to escape the prison.

Throughout the movie both men are digging into each other jokingly with one-liners galore, which adds some levity to the situation. There are prison riots, fights, and a lot of stare downs. Plans are made in great detail with plenty of prison movie norms such as corrupt wardens, merciless guards, and gang leader pow wows. As all of the action scenes unfold there are some truly unbelievable things that happen that make you scream, "There's no way he did that!" Other than those sections, this movie did its job and entertained.

If you like Prison Movies, Covert Ops, paramilitary, Stallone, Schwarzenegger, or just action movies in general then pick this one up for a night.

I give it ⭐⭐⭐ out of 5 stars.
