Movie Review: VENOM (2018)

VENOM … a short movie review for those with short attention spans.
Warning: Possible Spoilers!

Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy), a failed reporter, is bonded to an alien entity hellbent on invading the earth. While bonded to Eddie the entity decides that Earth is worth saving from invasion and fights against other entities of his race to save the planet.

With all of the CGI and stunt work in the movie, I was thoroughly entertained by everything being thrown my way. From the fight scenes to the car chases to the mild cannibalism. The whole package of Tom Hardy as Venom, Riz Ahmed as our heavy, and Michelle Williams as the powerful x-fiancé made for a very enjoyable experience.

Director, Ruben Fleischer (30 Minutes or Less, Zombieland) mixed the action, comedy, and story together to put out a rough-around-the-edges take on a Marvel movie. He even managed to put some profanity in the mix to give Venom a grittier feel than all of the superhero movies that have preceded it (excluding Deadpool).

As always if you like action adventure science fiction fantasy comic book knock down and dragout humdingers...then you will like this movie.  I know I did.

I give this movie ⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5 stars.
