Movie Review: Peppermint (2018)

Peppermint … a short movie review for those with short attention spans.
Warning: Possible Spoilers!

Directed by: Pierre Morel

Starring: Jennifer Garner, John Gallagher Jr, John Ortiz, and Juan Pablo Raba

The Plot: Five years after her husband and daughter are killed in a senseless act of violence, Riley North comes back from self-imposed exile to seek revenge against those responsible and the system that let them go free.

What I think: This is what it would look like if John Wick was a woman. With a hefty amount of girl power, Jennifer Garner has proven herself as an action star with this effort if you don't include the Electra Movie and the show Alias. She is killing everybody in this movie in the most violent and visceral way possible and all I can say is they deserved it. If you are a member of a Drug Cartel, a dirty cop, or an all around dick on the bus...you may be in her crosshairs.

This movie ticked all of the action movie boxes for me which includes:

Gun fights 🗹
Car chases 🗹
Super Violent Fight Scenes 🗹

The whole film had a fantastic pace and never had a dull moment. The story arc that Riley North (Garner) has is not completely far fetched. If you push someone far enough and keep them down long enough there isn't anything to stop them from pushing back harder and faster. In all, this is definately a must see movie.

As always, if you like female lead heroes, action, and a touching story (albiet a violent one) then this movie is most likely for your.

I give it ⭐⭐⭐⭐ of 5 stars.
