Plot
Columbus, Tallahassee, Witchita, and Little Rock move to the American heartland as they face off against evolved zombies, fellow survivors, and the growing pains of the snarky makeshift family.
What I think
The movie starts out as the original did, with a great opening featuring many slo-mo Zombie kills and a hard rock back drop provided by Metallica's "Master of Puppets". This one had a very family-centric spin on it. Our heroes have been traveling and killing zombies for the better part of a decade and finally just want some place to call home. When you think of a house that can accomodate a few people, with good security, and plenty of space to stretch out there is really only one option...The White House.

The relationship between Columbus, Jesse Eisenberg, and Witchita, Emma Stone, has become one of a boyfriend/girlfriend nature and the relationship between Tallahassee, Woody Harrelson, and Little Rock, Abigail Breslin, has become one of a father/daughter.
As we move along in the plot these relationships will become highly important and integral to the final stand as this movie closes.

There are other survivors in the apocalypse that make you question how they survived in the first place as well as a new kind of zombie which ratchets up the excitement, gags, and hijinx throughout the movie. The Zombie Kill of the Year is still a thing, and the showing of the rules across the screen is frequent which adds to the comedy of the film.
When all is said and done, this movie was very exciting, very funny, and at times very bloody. Just in time for Halloween and had a great story.

If you liked the original Zombieland, Evil Dead, and Dawn of the Dead then you will definately enjoy this gem.

In honor of Halloween and October I give this movie ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€ out of 5 skulls.
