Movie Review: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse … a short movie review for those with short attention spans.
Warning: Possible Spoilers!

Directed by: Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rotham, which

Starring: Jake Johnson, Shameik Moor, Zoë Kravitz, John Mulaney, Nicholas Cage, Hailee Steinfeld, the late great Stan Lee, and many more

The Plot: Teen Miles Morales becomes Spider-Man of his reality, crossing his path with five counterparts from other dimensions to stop a threat for all realities.

What I think: The movie itself is extremely visually stimulating. Animated like a comic book with all the hallmark "spidey" sense lines around the head, thought bubbles, visual sound effects, etc. This film tells the story of a half African American half Latino kid named Miles (Shameik Moor) that gets bit by a, you guessed it, radioactive spider. He starts to become A Spiderman in a time where THE Spiderman already exists. From this point, his world gets turned upside down as he meets other Spider Men, Women, and Animals all with a similar origin story from other dimensions. Also note that this particular version of the Spiderman series has a deep family dynamic and hints at the fact that it doesn't matter your gender, race, or what background or species you come from...anyone can be a hero.

At times the movie pulled at the heart and you tended to feel deeply for all of the heroes represented almost as if you were one of them.

Animation or not this movie was fantastic in story, humor, action, and heart.

As always, if you love animated movies, comic books, Marvel, or enjoyed your youth then look no further than Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse.

I give it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ of 5 stars.
