Movie Review: Slender Man

Slender Man … a short movie review for those with short attention spans.
Warning: Possible Spoilers!

Directed by: Sylvain White (The Losers, Stomp The Yard)

Starring: Joey King, Julia Goldani Telles, Jaz Sinclair, and Analise Basso

The Plot: In a small town in Massachusetts, a group of friends, fascinated by the internet lore of the Slender Man, attempt to prove that he doesn't actually exist - until one of them mysteriously goes missing.

What I think: I can only describe this as a teen horror movie that is kind of like "The Craft". There are four teenaged girls, Katie, Chloe, Hallie, and Wren, who watch a movie online, ala "The Ring", that summons the Slender Man. They then investigate the myths of the Slender Man and one by one fall prey to the myths.

The creepy value of this movie is pretty good. It has a lot of technology involved in the plot that contributes to the storyline. There are also a few "Altered Reality" scenes that give you a dizzy feeling. The biggest problem with the movie is that the ending was very anti-climactic.

As always, if you are not a big horror fan or are under the age of 15, you may enjoy this flick.

I give it ⭐⭐½ of 5 stars
