Movie Review: Robin Hood

Robin Hood (2018) … a short movie review for those with short attention spans.
Warning: Possible Spoilers!

Directed by: Otto Bathurst

Starring: Taron Egerton, Jamie Foxx, Eve Hewson, Ben Mendelshon, and Jamie Dornan.

The Plot: A war-hardened crusader Robin of Loxley (Taron Egerton) and his Moorish commander (Jamie Foxx) mount an audacious revolt against the corrupt English crown.

What I think: This iteration of the Robin Hood story is by far, in my opinion, one of the better versions. Mind you there is the Kevin Costner movie Robin Hood: Prince of thieves and the more recent version starring Russell Crowe, but this one was grittier and more raw. Having Jamie Foxx in the Little John role acting as the voice of the driving force for which Robin Hood follows, was a damn good choice. Ben Mendelshon also had a performance that was reminiscent of seeing what Adolf Hitler may have been like as a leader. You really enjoyed hating him as the Sheriff of Nottingham.

With great action, fantastic archery techniques, and fight scenes this movie delivers on all fronts.

If you like the previous Robin Hood Movies then you may enjoy this one as well.

I give this movie ⭐⭐⭐⭐½ of 5 stars.
